Capt. Jose Sanchez Rolon
is our fulltime instructor and owner, native of Puerto Rico he has been sailing these waters and exploring the Caribbean islands all his life.

Jose is an avid racer from traditional wooden sloops to catamarans and a whole host of other sea faring vessels. He has raced in countless International regattas placing in the top three as captain and helmsman more times than his modesty allows him to confirm. While he is a man who can sail with such speed, precision and knowledge of tides and winds he also finds immense pleasure in cruising, he is well known and warmly welcomed on Caribbean islands near and far.

His qualifications are plentiful he holds a US Coast Guard Master License, is a certified ASA instructor and also a PADI certified rescue diver. He also completed the requirements of American Red Cross for first aid and CPR. A natural pedagogue he was named an American Sailing Association Outstanding Instructor 2013.

Jose's knowledge of marine life, local history and characters is enthralling, and with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering there's nothing this man can't fix. Capt. Jose was born for the sea.
On the water instructions will be in Caribbean protected waters on the East Coast of PR surrounded by numerous beautiful islands and cays. Two favorites, Culebra and Vieques are regularly mentioned in travel articles as areas of outstanding natural beauty - you can look forward to exploring many of these gems during your time with us.
Suzy Acevedo has been teaching water sports since 1979. She was the first female Puerto Rican scuba diving instructor beginning in 1985, at which time she also started to teach sailing in the Caribbean, as well as qualifying as a member of the Puerto Rican Olympic Windsurfing Team. Suzy has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, the equivalent of a Master’s degree in teaching Spanish as second language, earned her USCG Captain’s License in 2012, and her pursues for continuing education as a professional mariner; Ms. Acevedo is a dedicated professional who believes education is the key to her success. She has been an ASA certified instructor since 1998, has taught sailing for many years in Annapolis, Maryland, and has worked as a successful freelance charter boat captain, ASA Instructor for international companies with locations in the Caribbean. She is committed to safety first as a path to experiencing the joys of sailing, and has successfully inspired her many students to follow their dreams and safely enjoy their time on the water.
